Der Antrieb des neuen 718 Spyder RS ist identisch mit dem des geschlossenen 718 Cayman GT4 RS. Der Sechszylin- der-Boxermotor mit 4,0 Liter Hubraum dreht bis zu 9.000/ min und entwickelt eine Leistung von 368 kW (500 PS) und ein maximales Drehmoment von 450 Newtonmetern. Verbun- den mit einem kurz übersetzten Siebengang-PDK-Getriebe, beschleunigt der Sechszylinder den zweisitzigen Roadster binnen 3,4 Sekunden auf 100 km/h. Nach 10,9 Sekunden ist Tempo 200 erreicht. Im Vergleich zum 718 Spyder ohne den Zusatz „RS“ ist das neue Topmodell nicht nur um 59 kW (80 PS) stärker, sondern beschleunigt auch eine halbe Sekunde schneller auf Tempo 100. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit beträgt hier 308 statt 300 km/h. Wie jedes moderne RS-Modell wird auch der neue 718 Spyder RS ausschließlich mit Porsche Dop- pelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) ausgeliefert: Es wechselt die sie- ben Gänge blitzschnell und garantiert maximale Performance. Dank der Schaltpaddle können die Hände auch bei manuellen Gangwechseln stets am Lenkrad bleiben. Alternativ kann der Fahrer die Gänge mit dem ergonomisch gestalteten Wählhebel auf der Mittelkonsole einlegen. Neben dem stärkeren Motor ist auch das geringere Gewicht für den Performance-Zuwachs verantwortlich: Mit 1.410 Kilogramm wiegt der Spyder RS 40 Kilogramm weniger als der 718 Spyder mit PDK und ist so- gar fünf Kilogramm leichter als der geschlossene 718 Cayman GT4 RS. So bildet der Spyder RS Höhepunkt der seit 2016 angebotenen Modellreihe.
The powertrain of the new 718 Spyder RS is identical to that of the closed 718 Cayman GT4 RS. The six-cylinder boxer engine with 4.0 litres of displacement revs up to 9,000 rpm and devel- ops an output of 368 kW (500 hp) and a maximum torque of 450 Newton metres. Combined with a short-ratio seven-speed PDK gearbox, the six-cylinder engine accelerates the two-seat- er roadster to 100 km/h within 3.4 seconds. It reaches 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds. Compared to the 718 Spyder without the “RS” suffix, the new top model is not only 59 kW (80 hp) more powerful, but also accelerates half a second faster to 100 km/h. Top speed here is 308 instead of 300 km/h. Like every modern RS model, the new 718 Spyder RS comes exclu- sively with Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK): It chang- es the seven gears at lightning speed and guarantees maxi- mum performance. Thanks to the shift paddles, the hands can remain on the steering wheel at all times, even during manual gear changes. Alternatively, the driver can engage the gears with the ergonomically designed selector lever on the centre console. In addition to the more powerful engine, the lower weight is also responsible for the increase in performance: at 1,410 kilograms, the Spyder RS weighs 40 kilograms less than the 718 Spyder with PDK and is even five kilograms lighter than the closed 718 Cayman GT4 RS. Thus, the Spyder RS is the highlight of the model series offered since 2016.
