Der hochkarätige Top-Concours de Elegance mit internationalen Teilnehmern wird am 4. Oktober im Golf Son Vida stattfinden. Das Wettbewerbs- feld ist größer als geplant, denn die Anmeldungen waren zahlreich und die Auswahlkommission hatte entschieden zu einem großen Jubiläum ganz groß- artige Fahrzeuge gesondert zu präsentieren: 120 Jahre Rolls Royce – The Best Car in the World.
In der Rolls Royce Klasse werden ausschließlich Rolls Royce Phantom der frühen Baujahre 1927- 1930 zu sehen sein. Spektakuläres Highlight ist der Experimental-Rolls Royce „17 EX“ aus dem Jahr 1928 mit einer Sonderkarosserie von „Jarvis“ – lan- ge Zeit der schnellste Rolls Royce.
Begeistern werden im Concours zusätzlich zwei Klassen mit Rennfahrzeugen. Es werden neben BMW E30 M3 im Renntrimm oder dem originalen Mercedes Benz von Niki Lauda – einem 190 2.3 16 V aus dem Eröffnungsrennen des damals mit neuer Grand Prix Strecke ausgebauten Nürburgring 1984 auch neue Rennfahrzeuge und GTs gezeigt. Kein Wunder also, dass neben der alten „Roten Sau“, der W108er AMG S-Klasse mit mächtigem 6.3 Li- ter Motor dann auch eine neue Version der „Roten Sau“ – ein AMG GT R stehen wird.
Am Samstag, den 5. Oktober gibt es zum Abschluss aller ICONS-Programmpunkte einen „Public Day“ am Port d Andratx. Hier werden unter der passen- den Überschrift „Auto-Biography“ alle Fahrzeuge dem Publikum vorgestellt.
The premium class Concours d’Élegance with its international participants will take place on 4 October at Golf Son Vida. The competitive field is larger than originally planned on account of the numerous applications. The selection committee decided to separately present truly outstanding vehicles for a notable anniversary: “120 Years Rolls Royce - The Best Car in the World.”
In the Rolls Royce class, only Rolls Royce Phantoms from the early model years 1927-1930 will be on display. The spectacular highlight will be the experimental Rolls Royce 17 EX from 1928 with its special body made by Jarvis of Wimbledon, for many years the fastest Rolls Royce of them all.
The Concours will also feature two racing car classes. Alongside a BMW E30 M3 in race trim and Niki Lauda’s original Mercedes Benz (a 190 2.3 16 V from the inaugural race at the Nürburgring on the new Grand Prix circuit built in 1984), new racing cars and GTs will also be on display. No wonder, then, that alongside the old “Red Sow”, the W108 AMG S-Class with its mighty 6.3 litre engine, a new version of the “Red Sow”, an AMG GT R, will also be on display.
On Saturday, 5 October, at the end of the ICONS programme there will be a “Public Day” at Port d’Andratx, where all the vehicles will be presented to the public under the appropriate heading “Auto-Biography”.
