Am Ende haben es die Titelverteidiger geschafft: Nachdem sie am ersten Nachmittag des Rennens einige Schwierigkeiten überwunden hatten, bestätigten sie vom Start der zweiten Etappe an, dass sie das Team
sind, das es zu schlagen gilt, und überließen ihren Rivalen den Kampf um den zweiten und dritten Platz auf dem Podium. Andrea Vesco gewann damit seinen vierten Titel in Folge (von insgesamt sechs), während Fabio Salvinelli mit drei Siegen zu Giuliano Canè aufschloss. “Am Anfang gab es einige Schwierigkeiten”, erklärte Vesco mit ausgeschaltetem Motor, “dann haben wir eine konstante Leistung mit wenigen Strafen gezeigt. Erst als ich mit meinem Vater fuhr, konnte ich ein so gutes Ergebnis erzielen, und ich bin sehr stolz auf dieses historische Resultat.
