Das inhaltliche Konzept der Jubilä- umsausstellung geht grundsätzlich von Motorrad-Paaren aus, wobei jeweils ein historisches Fahrzeug neben ein aktuelles gestellt wird. So entstehen interessante Kontraste zu den The- men Innovation, Supersport, Kombi, Vollverkleidung und urbane Mobilität. Die wertvollsten Stücke der Ausstel- lung finden die Besucher auf dem Weg von Plattform 2 zum Motorsport. Hier stehen zwei Maschinen, die mit dem Sieg bei der legendären Tourist Tro- phy auf der Isle of Man in Verbindung gebracht werden: Bei diesem wohl härtesten Straßenrennen der Welt siegte Schorsch Meier auf einer BMW R 255 Kompressor und 75 Jahre spä- ter Michael Dunlop auf einer BMW S 1000 RR.
The concept for the centenary exhibition is based on pairs of motorcycles, with a historic bike placed next to a current one. This creates interesting contrasts to the themes of innovation, supersport, station wagon, full fairing and urban mo- bility. Visitors will find the most valuable pieces of the exhibition on their way from Platform 2 to Motorsport. Here are two machines associated with winning the legendary Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man: Schorsch Meier on a BMW R 255 Kompressor and 75 years later Michael Dunlop on a BMW S 1000 RR.
