Laut wurde es bei der Demonstration des Moto- renstarts in der Klasse „100 Jahre 24 Stunden von Le Mans“. Das Dröhnen der Rennmotoren war bis über den See zu hören und sorgte für Gänsehaut, zumal in diesem Feld wahre Legenden zum Leben erweckt wurden. Mitten auf dem Kiesplatz, wo einst die große 400 Jahre alte Platane stand, prä- sentierten sich der legendäre Ford GT40 von 1968 in Gulf Livré und daneben der Porsche 917K von 1970 in den Originalfarben von Martini & Rossi. Dieser Porsche ging einst für Porsche Salzburg in Le Mans an den Start. Der Porsche 917K erhielt den Preis für den besten Motorensound. Natürlich durften auch andere Rennlegenden nicht fehlen, wie der Mercedes Benz 300 SL Coupé von 1952, mit dem Hermann Lang und Fritz Rieß in Le Mans an den Start gingen.
1960 gewannen die Piloten Paul Frère und Olivier Gendebien mit dem Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, Bau- jahr 1959, nach 314 Runden den Gesamtsieg in Le Mans. Eines der berühmtesten Le Mans-Rennau- tos ist sicherlich der Ferrari 250 GTO, der über vie- le Jahre die Rennstrecken von Le Mans dominierte. Der Ferrari 250 GTO holte sich den Klassensieg.

The roar of the racing engines could be heard all the way across the lake and gave goose bumps, espe- cially as true legends were brought to life in this field. In the middle of the gravel parking lot, where the large 400-year-old plane tree once stood, the legendary Ford GT40 from 1968 in Gulf livery and next to it the Porsche 917K from 1970 in the origi- nal Martini & Rossi colours presented themselves. This Porsche once competed for Porsche Salzburg at Le Mans. The Porsche 917K received the prize for the best engine sound. Of course, other racing legends were not to be missed, such as the Merce- des Benz 300 SL Coupé from 1952, with which Her- mann Lang and Fritz Rieß competed at Le Mans.
