Ein bemerkenswerter Aspekt des Films sind bisher unveröf- fentlichte Szenen, wie während der Berichterstattung über das 24-Stunden-Rennen in Le Mans 2022, bei dem die gebürtige Münchnerin zum dritten Mal an den Start ging. Auf die Frage, warum sie diese Momente nun öffentlich gemacht hat, erklär- te Sophia Flörsch, dass im Sport, insbesondere im Motorsport, als Frau der Druck besteht, stark und gefasst zu wirken. Das Zeigen solcher Emotionen wird oft vermieden. Es war für sie zwar keine angenehme Situation, dass in diesem Moment eine Kamera darauf gerichtet war, jedoch erkennt sie an, dass Emo- tionen ein integraler Bestandteil des Sports sind. Es gibt Mo- mente des Triumphs, in denen Freudentränen fließen, genauso wie Niederlagen, die starke Emotionen hervorrufen.
Die Dokumentation soll noch in diesem Jahr im Fernsehen ausgestrahlt werden und Sophia Flörsch hofft, dass sie nicht nur Motorsport-Fans anspricht, sondern auch ein breiteres Pu- blikum – und dass der Film viele Mädchen inspiriert, ihren Weg auch in männerdominierten Berufen zu finden.
A notable aspect of the film are previously unreleased scenes, such as those from coverage of the 2022 24-hour race in Le Mans, in which Munich-born Flörsch competed for the third time. When asked why she has now made these moments pub- lic, Sophia Flörsch explained that women in sport, especially in motor sport, are under pressure to appear strong and compo- sed, and frequently refrain from displaying such emotions. Whi- le it was not a pleasant situation to have a camera pointed at her in that particular instant, she acknowledges that emotions are an integral part of the sport. There are triumphal moments when tears of joy flow, just as there are defeats which evoke strong emotions.
The documentary is to be broadcast on television later this year. Sophia Flörsch hopes that it will not only appeal to motor sport fans, but also to a wider audience – and that the film will inspire many girls to find their way in male-dominated profes- sions as well.
