Rennfahrerin Sophia Flörsch, Botschafterin der Laureus Sport for Good Stiftung, war der Stardes Abends beim Dokumentarfilm-Festival „DOK.fest München“ im Deutschen Thea- ter. Der Film „#Racegirl - Das Comeback der Sophia Flörsch“ hatte am 6. Mai seine Weltpre- miere auf großer Leinwand und gewährte den Zuschauern einen bewegenden Einblick in Flörschs Rückkehr in den Motorsport nach ihrem schweren Unfall beim Macau Grand Prix 2018. Die 95-minütige Dokumentation, eine Produktion der Gebrüder Beetz in Koproduk- tion mit RTL 2 und RTL+, nimmt die Zuschauer mit auf eine emotionale Achterbahnfahrt in dieser herausfordernden Welt des Motorsports.
Der Film beleuchtet Sophia Flörschs unermüdlichen Kampf um Sponsoren für ihr nächstes Rennen und verdeutlicht, wie finanziell anspruchsvoll der Sport sein kann. Er führt die Zuschauer in eine Welt jenseits des reinen Rennfahrens und zeigt die Höhen und Tiefen, Erfolge und Rückschläge sowie den unerschütterlichen Einsatz von Sophia und ihrer Fami- lie. Mit großer Authentizität gelingt es der Regisseurin Sonja Otto und ihrem Team, emotio- nale Momente einzufangen, darunter auch Aufnahmen kurz nach dem Unfall.
Racing driver Sophia Flörsch, ambassador of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, was the star of the evening at the documentary film festival „DOK.fest München“ held at the Deutsches Theater. The film „#Racegirl - Das Comeback der Sophia Flörsch“ celebrated its world premiere on the big screen on 6 May. It gives viewers a moving insight into Flörsch‘s return to motor sport following her serious accident at the 2018 Macau Grand Prix. The 95-minute-long documentary, a Beetz brothers‘ production in collaboration with RTL 2 and RTL+, takes viewers on an emotio- nal rollercoaster ride in the challenging world of motor sport.
The film highlights Sophia Flörsch‘s indefatigable struggle to acquire sponsors for her next race, and demonstrates just how financially demanding the sport can be.
It takes the audience into a world beyond racing itself, and shows the ups and downs, the suc- cesses and setbacks, as well as the unwavering commitment of Sophia and her family. Director Sonja Otto and her team have succeeded with great authenticity in capturing many emotional moments, including footage taken shortly after the accident.
