 LANCIA PU+RA HPE
At Milan Design Week 2023, Lancia unveiled its first fully electric vehicle, the Pu+Ra HPE, marking a significant step in the brand’s 10-year journey towards electric mobility. The “Pu+Ra” in the name represents Lancia’s new design ethos, combining purity and radical innovation, while “HPE” stands for High-Performance Electric, indicating a commitment to eco-sustainability, excitement, and evolution. Boasting a range of over 700 km and an impressively rapid charging time of just over 10 minutes, the Pu+Ra HPE is also notably efficient, consuming less than 10 kWh per 100km.
Luca Napolitano, CEO of Lancia, highlighted the vehicle as a beacon of the brand’s future direction, especially in electric mobility. The car’s ‘progressive green’ exterior color symbolizes Lancia’s dedication to renewable energy. Design-wise, the Pu+Ra HPE features a spacious, spacecraft-like interior with a panoramic roof offering expansive views, integrating architectural elements into its design.
Technologically advanced, the vehicle includes the S.A.L.A. system (Sound Air Light Augmentation), a smart interface that consolidates audio, climate, and lighting controls. This system offers simplicity in operation, responding to both touch and voice commands. It also includes a ‘Wellbeing’ mode that adjusts the car’s atmosphere based on the passengers’ moods, powered by Stellantis’ Artificial Intelligence, TAPE (Tailored Predictive Experience).
In a unique collaboration with Italian furniture designer Cassina, the vehicle’s interior echoes the warmth and comfort of a home, featuring circular carpets and round tables inspired by Cassina’s iconic designs. This collaboration is a testament to Lancia’s commitment to integrating Italian furniture design into automotive innovation. Displayed prominently at Milan Design Week, the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE represents a harmonious blend of home-like comfort and futuristic automotive design.
