Das Design des M5 Touring betont sowohl die Funktion als auch die Ästhetik. M-spezifische Designelemente, wie der Dachspoiler und die geneigte D-Säule, verbessern die Aerodynamik und die Kühlleistung. Seine dynamische Linienführung wird durch farbige Flächen, ausgestellte Radhäuser und markante Front- und Heckschürzen unterstrichen und hebt ihn vom serienmäßigen 5er Touring ab. Die Außenabmessungen sind etwas größer als beim 5er Touring: Der M5 Touring ist vorne 75 mm und hinten 48 mm breiter und insgesamt etwas länger. Diese Verbesserungen tragen zu seinem muskulösen und optisch markanten Auftritt bei.
Der neue BMW M5 Touring ist erstmals mit einem elektrifizierten M HYBRID System ausgestattet. Dieses System kombiniert einen 4,4-Liter-V8-Motor mit einem Elektromotor, der eine Gesamtleistung von 727 PS und 1.000 Nm Drehmoment erzeugt. Mit diesem Antriebsstrang beschleunigt der M5 Touring in nur 3,6 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 km/h und erreicht eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 200 km/h. Der Elektromotor allein kann das Fahrzeug bis zu einer Geschwindigkeit von 140 km/h antreiben, mit einer Reichweite von 60 bis 70 Kilometer im reinen Elektrobetrieb. Das Fahrwerk des Fahrzeugs wurde speziell auf das M HYBRID-System abgestimmt und bietet eine höhere Steifigkeit, eine verbesserte Aerodynamik und eine nahezu perfekte Gewichtsverteilung von 50:50. In Verbindung mit der modellspezifischen Kinematik und Elastokinematik sorgen diese Eigenschaften für ein außergewöhnlich dynamisches Fahrverhalten und hohen Komfort. Die Doppelquerlenker- Vorderachse und die Verwendung von Aluminium- Leichtbauteilen tragen zu einem agilen Fahrverhalten bei, das ihn sowohl für den Alltag als auch für längere Strecken geeignet macht.
Im Innenraum bietet der BMW M5 Touring eine Mischung aus Sportlichkeit und Luxus. Die serienmäßigen M Multifunktionssitze mit Sitzheizung, elektrischer Verstellung und Memory-Funktion sorgen für Komfort auf langen Fahrten. Das optionale Panoramaglasdach, das sich von der Front bis zum Heck des Fahrzeugs erstreckt, lässt den Innenraum in natürliches Licht tauchen. Die Rücksitze lassen sich im Verhältnis 40:20:40 umklappen, um den Laderaum zu vergrößern, und Funktionen wie eine automatische Heckklappenbetätigung und eine Durchlademöglichkeit erhöhen die Praktikabilität. Eine Anhängerkupplung mit einer Anhängelast von 2.000 kg ist ebenfalls erhältlich.

The M5 Touring’s design emphasizes both function and aesthetics. M-specific design elements, like the roof spoiler and raked D-pillar, enhance aerodynamics and cooling efficiency. Its dynamic lines are further highlighted by body-colored surfaces, flared wheel arches, and distinctive front and rear aprons, setting it apart from the standard 5 Series Touring. The exterior dimensions are slightly larger than the 5 Series Touring, with the M5 Touring being 75 mm wider at the front, 48 mm wider at the rear, and slightly longer overall. These enhancements contribute to its muscular and visually striking presence.
The new BMW M5 Touring is equipped with an electrified M HYBRID system for the first time. Inside, the BMW M5 Touring offers a blend of sportiness and luxury. The standard M multifunction seats provide comfort on long trips, featuring seat heating, electric adjustment, and memory functions. The interior is bathed in natural light thanks to the optional panoramic glass sunroof, which extends from the front to the rear of the vehicle. The rear seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 split to expand cargo space, and features like automatic tailgate operation and a through-loading facility enhance practicality. A trailer coupling with a 2,000 kg towing capacity is also available. In terms of technology, the M5 Touring is equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance and parking systems. Standard features include front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning, and the Speed Limit Info system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional adds Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go, traffic light detection, and Active Navigation. The Parking Assistant Professional enables automated parking and remote maneuvering via smartphone.
