Der erste Motorworld Standort in Spanien, wird auf der Baleareninsel Mallorca eröffnet. Wir sprachen mit Mat- thias Buttkus, Geschäftsführer der Motorworld Mallor- ca über den Fortgang der Bautätigkeiten.
Wie ist der aktuelle Stand der Baustelle? Wie läuft’s?
Der Baufertigstellungsgrad liegt bei ca. 65%. Die letzten beiden großen Gewerke, die bald beginnen, sind die Hau- stechnikinstallationen und die Außen-/Parkplatzanlagen. Aufgrund von Änderungen beim Bau und Innenausbau verschiebt sich die Fertigstellung von Ende 2024 auf ca. Februar/März 2025.
Was ist das Highlight der Motorworld Mallorca?
Das Motorworld-Konzept ist einzigartig auf Mallorca. Es bietet viele Highlights, ähnlich wie die Standorte in München, Stuttgart und Köln, jedoch zunächst kleiner mit etwa 13.000 m2 Bruttomietfläche. Eine besondere Dauerausstellung, ähnlich der von Michael Schumacher Private Collection im Standort Köln oder Hans Herrmann Ausstellung in der Motorworld Stuttgart, ist in Planung.
Gehören auch ikonische Windmühlen zum Areal?
Ja. Wir haben uns mit dem örtlichen Denkmalschutzamt auf die Restaurierung und Nutzung der Windmühlen ge- einigt und befinden uns in der Ausschreibung mit mal- lorquinischen Fachfirmen. Die ca. 700 m2 große Außen- terrasse des Restaurants wird von zwei Mühlen, einem Aquädukt, einem Brunnen und einem Wasserdepot aus dem vorletzten Jahrhundert umrahmt sein.
Mallorca ist im Wandel, man legt viel Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit? Wie bringt sich die Motorworld ein? Die gesamte freie Dachfläche wird mit einer modernen PV-Anlage ausgestattet, so dass wir von der guten Witte- rung auf der Insel profitieren können.
Was erwartet die internationalen Mieter, die ihre Fahrzeuge in den Glasboxen parken?
Die 60 Glasboxen sind rund um die Uhr zugänglich und bieten beste klimatische Bedingungen ohne direkte Son- neneinstrahlung und natürlich Sicherheit, denn die Mo- torworld Mallorca wird eine 24-Stunden-Security haben. Darüber hinaus gibt es aber auch zunächst 300 ebenerdi- ge Besucherparkplätze, mit weiteren Parkmöglichkeiten für über 500 Fahrzeuge auf dem Gelände.

The first Motorworld location in Spain is opening on the Balearic island of Mallorca. We spoke to Matthias Buttkus, Managing Director of Motorworld Mallorca, about the pro- gress of the construction work.
What is the current state of progress at the construction site? How are things going?
Around 65% of the construction work has been completed. The last two major stages that will soon begin are the ins- tallations of the building services and the outdoor/parking facilities. Due to changes in the construction plans and interior fittings, the completion date has been reschedu- led from the end of 2024 to around February/March 2025.
What is the highlight at Motorworld Mallorca?
The Motorworld concept is unique on Majorca. It of- fers many highlights similar to the locations in Munich, Stuttgart and Cologne, but will initially be smaller with around 13,000 square metres of gross rentable space. A special permanent exhibition, like the Michael Schuma- cher Private Collection in Cologne or the Hans Herrmann exhibition at Motorworld Stuttgart, is being planned.
Will iconic windmills be part of the site as well?
Yes. We have reached an agreement with the local heritage conservation authority on the restoration and usage of the windmills and are currently at the tendering stage with Major- can specialist companies. The restaurant‘s outdoor terrace covering 700 square metres will be framed by two mills, an aqueduct, a fountain and a water depot from the 19th century.
Majorca is changing, sustainability is a very important is- sue. What is Motorworld doing in this regard?
The entire free roof area will be fitted with a modern PV sys- tem so that we can benefit from the island‘s good weather.
What can the international tenants who park their vehicles in the glass boxes expect?
The glass boxes are accessible around the clock and offer the best climatic conditions without direct sunlight and, of course, security, as Motorworld Mallorca will have a 24- hour security service. There will initially be 300 ground-level visitor car parking spaces, with further parking facilities for over 500 vehicles on the site.
